Business Like was originally started in 1998 by June Ferguson and Pauline Clancy. This little “hobby” soon grew and in April 2004, Rachel Lamb bought the business from June & Pauline. Rachel Darlington joined the practice in February 2008 and became a partner in April 2009. The name was changed to Business Like NZ Limited on the 1st April 2009. Currently Business Like NZ Ltd employs 9 staff including the two Rachel’s and Pauline.
Rachel is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA), she also holds a current certificate of public practice. Rachel completed a Bachelor of Management Studies at the University of Waikato. She began her accounting career working as an auditor for KPMG in Hamilton before joining the corporate world where she worked for Kiwi Co-operative Dairies (now part of Fonterra). Rachel then did two years with BDO Spicers before joining Business Like in 2004.

Rachel completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree at Auckland University and post graduate diploma in Professional Accounting at Manukau Institute of Technology. She began her accounting career in the corporate arena working for merchant banking firm – Bankers Trust for approximately ten years. Following the birth of her daughter she joined a CA accounting firm in 1999 where she became practice manager and worked until 2007. Rachel joined Business Like in February 2008. In 2009 Rachel Lamb and Rachel Darlington joined forces to create Business Like NZ Ltd.

Brendan is the most recent addition to the Business Like team. Brendan is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA), he also holds a current certificate of public practice. Brendan completed a Bachelor of Business Studies where he majored in Accounting and Marketing at the Auckland University of Technology. He has always worked in chartered accounting firms servicing small to medium sized businesses in a range of industries from Agribusiness to Trades. Brendan welcomes all queries from clients and will make every effort to provide a timely and practical solution to business and taxation problems.

Nileshni is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA). She completed her Diploma in Business Accounting at the Fiji Institute of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies at the Manukau Institute of Technology. She began her career working in the BAS Department for Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu in Fiji before joining Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants also in Fiji. Nileshni joined Business Like in May 2005. Nileshni is currently working towards completing her Chartered Accountancy qualification. She is married and has a beautiful daughter.

Michelle is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a member of NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA). Michelle completed a Diploma in Business at Manukau Institute of Technology specialising in Accountancy. She worked at Giles & Liew Chartered Accountants Ltd for eight years before joining Business Like in January 2008. Michelle has two gorgeous daughters that keep her busy outside of Business Like NZ Ltd.

Razia is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA). Razia joined Business Like in June 2008. She completed her Bachelor of Business where she majored in Accounting at the Manukau Institute of Technology. Prior to her career in accounting, Razia completed her Bachelor of Science degree at The University of Auckland.

Rose joined Business Like in June 2007. Rose has completed her Diploma in Business specializing in accounting & management at Manukau Institute of Technology. She has recently completed her foundations examination and is applying for full membership with the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) as an Accounting Technician (AT). Rose is our GST, Banklink, Payroll and MYOB expert.

Debbie joined Business Like in 2009 as an Office Administrator working her way up to Office Manger when Pauline retired at the end of 2012. Debbie is the smile that greets you at reception and the friendly voice on the end of the phone. Debbie will happily assist you with any queries you may have or direct you to the person that can help. Debbie keeps a tight rein on both the clients and staff at Business Like NZ Ltd.
